Roof replacement covered by the Lakeway Roofing workmanship warranty

What the warranty covers

The workmanship warranty covers defects caused by improper installation within the approved scope of work — the things that are on us, fixed on us.

5 years on full replacements

Every full roof replacement includes a 5-year workmanship warranty from the date of completion. If a workmanship defect shows up in the work we performed, we repair the affected area at no charge.

1 year on repairs and service work

Roof repairs, leak repairs, flashing and pipe jack repairs, partial replacements, tie-ins, and other service work carry a 1-year workmanship warranty on the specific area we worked on.

In writing, every time

The warranty is part of your estimate and contract paperwork, not a verbal promise. You know exactly what is covered before the first shingle comes off.

Transferable once

Selling the house? The warranty transfers one time to the new owner within the first year after completion — just notify us in writing.

Workmanship vs. manufacturer warranty

Two warranties protect a new roof, and it pays to know the difference. Our workmanship warranty covers the installation — flashing details, fastening, sealing, the things a crew can get right or wrong. The manufacturer warranty covers the materials themselves, and on the shingle lines we install it typically runs 25 to 50 years depending on the product.

Most roof problems in the first decade trace back to installation, not materials. That is why the workmanship warranty matters, and why it matters that the company behind it is local. We have been working the same Greater Austin neighborhoods for years — we are still here when the warranty card gets pulled out of the drawer.

If a workmanship defect related to the work we performed occurs during the warranty period, we repair the affected area at no charge to you.

What it does not cover

We would rather you read this before you hire us than after. The warranty covers our workmanship — not weather, other trades, or skipped maintenance.

Hail, wind, and storm damage — that is an insurance claim, and we document those properly

Manufacturer defects in the materials themselves — covered by the manufacturer warranty instead

Damage caused by other trades: solar installers, satellite, HVAC, chimney, or gutter work after we finish

Clogged gutters and drains, ponding water, and lack of maintenance

Structural movement, building settlement, and pre-existing conditions outside our scope of work

Sealants, exposed fasteners, and pipe boots — maintenance items that should be inspected regularly

How a warranty claim works

01

Let us know in writing

Email or send us a note describing the issue. A photo from the ground or the attic helps, but is not required.

02

We inspect

We come out and look at the affected area to confirm whether the issue is a workmanship defect within the original scope of work. Important: let us inspect before anyone else works on it, or the warranty may be void for that area.

03

We repair at no charge

If the issue is covered, we repair the affected area at no cost to you, limited to the original scope of work we completed.

Frequently asked questions

Full roof replacements carry a 5-year workmanship warranty from the date of project completion. Roof repairs, leak repairs, maintenance work, partial replacements, tie-ins to existing systems, and other service work carry a 1-year workmanship warranty.

The workmanship warranty is our promise that the installation itself is done right — it covers defects caused by improper installation, and we repair them at no charge. The materials themselves (shingles, underlayment, TPO, vents, and so on) are covered separately by the manufacturer's warranty, which typically runs 25 to 50 years depending on the product line.

Yes, once. The workmanship warranty may be transferred one time to a new property owner within the first year after project completion, provided we are notified in writing.

Storm, hail, and wind damage (that is what insurance is for), normal wear and tear, damage caused by other trades like solar or satellite installers, clogged gutters, ponding water, structural movement, and pre-existing conditions outside the scope of work we performed. Sealants, exposed fasteners, and pipe boots are maintenance items that naturally deteriorate faster than the roof system itself.

Notify us in writing and give us reasonable access to inspect the issue. We need the chance to inspect and confirm coverage before any repairs are performed by others — if another contractor works on the affected area first, the warranty may be void for that area.

Yes. Every job ends with a final inspection and full site cleanup, including a magnetic sweep for nails, before we consider the work complete.
